How the game is played

In FreeCell Solitaire, cards are dealt into eight tableau piles, with the top card of each pile face up. Four free cells are also available, which can be used to temporarily store cards. The goal is to build four foundation piles, one for each suit, by moving cards from the tableau piles or the free cells. Cards can be moved onto foundation piles if they are one rank higher and of the same suit as the top card of the pile.
